College is located in Yulin City, northern Shaanxi Province, on the edge of Mu Us Desert, and it is the only university in China established in the desert. But please rest assured that this city has both deserts and beautiful scenery in the south of the Yangtze River. Yulin is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China. The arcade street on the sixth floor of the old city is surrounded by antique quadrangles, which is known as "Little Beijing".

Yulin university is a provincial undergraduate college which focuses on engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, management, arts, science, agriculture and law. It is the only provincial undergraduate college in Yulin.

The school comes from Suide Teachers College, and its history can be traced back to 1923. Suide Normal School is the place where the seeds of the northwest revolution are sown, and has trained more than 20,000 outstanding talents for the revolution and construction in China. Three alumni became deputy leaders of the country, more than 60 alumni became senior cadres of the Party, government and army in New China, 8 alumni served as secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and more than 70 alumni died heroically for the China Revolution.

There are three campuses in Yuyang, Suide and Kechuang New City, 15 secondary college, and 52 undergraduate majors. Full-time students 15486, including full-time undergraduates 14589, junior college students (575), graduate students (307) and international students with academic qualifications 15.
