Generally speaking, theology is the research and discussion around the theme of "God", and finally becomes a relatively independent discipline. Strictly speaking, Buddhism is a deeply rooted godless religion, which is essentially different from Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Theology is also divided into Christian theology and Islamic theology. In these categories, there are many branches, such as liberation theology, pastoral theology and so on. The highest realm of science is philosophy, and the highest realm of philosophy is theology.
Theology and church are not the same meaning. The church preaches the truth of Christ and promotes the development of theology. Ancient universities, especially those in Europe, are closely related to many Catholic theologians and theological education. In the Middle Ages, the church also greatly developed university education, which played a connecting role between the two. There are many famous theologians in Christian theology, such as Capadocia's three godfathers, Saint Thomas Aquinas (founder of scholasticism), Saint Albert, Saint Julius (Pope) and so on. I won't go into details one by one.
