Guangzhou University of Technology is not a diploma workshop. The school is the first batch of private undergraduate colleges in Guangdong Province to be awarded master's degrees. In 2022, it was listed as the first batch of joint graduate enrollment units in private undergraduate colleges in Guangdong Province.

There are 45 undergraduate majors in the school, including 2 1 engineering majors and more than 5,400 full-time students/kloc-0. There are more than 800 faculty members, including 682 full-time teachers and 209 teachers with associate senior titles or above, and there are a group of experts, doctors, returnees, double-qualified teachers and specially invited experts from enterprises.

The school adheres to the road of talent training of school-enterprise cooperation and integration of production and education, deepens the reform of talent training mode, and implements innovation and quality engineering. At present, there are 2 key disciplines in Guangdong Province, 1 national first-class specialty 1 discipline, 3 provincial first-class specialties, 80 provincial-level excellent projects, 65 provincial-level scientific research projects and 70 collaborative education projects of production and education of the Education Department of the Ministry of Education. There are four provincial specialties in the provincial quality project.
