As for the feudal emperors, it is even more interesting, as if they were all in the north. Since Qin Shihuang, Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang was a native of Fengyi, Pei County, and now he belongs to Pei County, Jiangsu Province. Liu Xiu, the founding emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, was born in Cai Yang, Nanyang, and now belongs to Zaoyang County, Hubei Province. Although it is located at the junction of the north and the south, it should be regarded as the north in people's minds. Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin was born in an officer's family in Luoyang, Henan. Genghis Khan in the Yuan Dynasty and Kublai Khan in Yuan Shizu need not go into details; Zhu Yuanzhang, a native of Ming Taizu, was born in Zhongli, Haozhou. Now it belongs to Fengyang county, Anhui province, and it should also be counted as a northerner. As for the Qing Dynasty, the last feudal dynasty in China, like the Yuan Dynasty, its rulers all came from the far north.
The above-mentioned emperors were the founding emperors of major dynasties in China. As for other emperors produced during the war, they either came directly from the north or their ancestors were northerners. In short, most of them are northerners, and their ancestral homes are concentrated, and most of them are distributed on both sides of the canal.
This is really different from Feng Shui, is it different from place to place? Actually, it depends on what you say. If feng shui is regarded as feudal superstition, it certainly has nothing to do with feng shui; But if we understand geomantic omen in a broad sense, regard it as a kind of human geography, and even have some geopolitical colors, it is related to geomantic omen. In the ancient society of China, the development of the north was earlier and the culture was more precocious. Compared with the south, the social system and patriarchal clan system in the south are more rigorous, developed and mature. Most of the time, the north is not only a political and cultural center, but also an economic center, and northerners are brave and good at fighting. Therefore, the move of changing dynasties generally occurred in the north, resulting in more emperors. On the contrary, social rule, clan rule and ideological rule in the south are weaker than those in the north, so people's minds are more liberated and active. In today's words, a relatively relaxed political environment is easy to produce great writers and promote great works.
There is another aspect that cannot be ignored. Confucius said, "The benevolent enjoys Leshan, while the wise enjoys water.". Although there are only these eight words, the profound truth contained in them is never easy. On the surface, Confucius said that kind people like mountains and rivers, while wise people like rivers and streams, but in fact they are talking about two kinds of wisdom. One is benevolent and the other is wise. The wisdom of the benevolent is as heavy as a mountain, and the wisdom of the wise is as changeable as rivers and streams. It can be seen that many places in the rivers and lakes are the geographical environment for cultivating the wise, while many places in the mountains and plains are the geographical environment for cultivating the benevolent. Even modern science does not deny the influence of geographical environment on human character and intelligence.
Benevolent people tend to engage in politics, while wise people tend to engage in literature and art, and become scholars in the south and emperors in the north. It seems that there is not only social inevitability, but also geographical inevitability.
Benevolent and wise are only two types of wisdom, and there is no difference; Scholars and emperors are also two different social roles. As far as their functions are concerned, there is actually no difference. It's just that people can easily see that the emperor enjoys wealth and power, but they can't see that the literati is the uncrowned king and the master of social spirit. However, it must be noted that literati or scholars are incompatible with the emperor, and literati can never be the founding emperor for the following reasons:
First, the way of sages learned by scholars is to govern the country, not to establish the country. The Taoists of sages cultivate self-cultivation and never teach people to rebel.
Second, the moral ideals represented by literati always walk in front of the social reality. They can only stand in front of the reality forever and summon, sigh and lament the social reality behind them, but they can't launch a rebellion on the pile of white bones and build a new dynasty palace.
Third, scholars have been studying for a long time, and their ears are full of the teachings of sages, lacking social exercise, so they lack the necessary personality qualities of the founding emperor, such as ambition, snobbery, deceit, resourcefulness, ruthlessness, cruelty and even unconscionability.

Fourthly, China has always been a country where scholars and emperors are separated, and scholars and officials are separated. Literati, not to mention being an emperor, is an official, and they often lose their character, leaving only official positions. The ideal morality represented by scholars and literati is about to retire, and the way to be an official is often unstoppable.
Fifth, the status of literati and officialdom in ancient social life is often not low, so it is often not literati and officialdom who initiate rebellion.
So there was such a strange phenomenon in ancient China society. A truly kind and intelligent person can't be the founding emperor. Most of the founding emperors belong to these two kinds of people: one is a rogue and the other is a strongman. Rogues have no scruples and strongmen have power.
But it is in this historical environment that a scholar emperor came out, combining the two different personalities of scholar and emperor and creating a freak. From the success or failure of this scholar emperor, we can see many meaningful things.
There was a short dynasty between the Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty, which lasted for eighteen years. General historical works don't mention this dynasty very much, thinking that it is a transitional stage between the Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty and a temporary interruption of the Han Dynasty. In fact, it should still be regarded as an independent dynasty, not only because Wang Mang officially proclaimed the title of Emperor Jiannian, but also because he mastered the actual political power and promulgated and implemented many important policies and decrees. Wang Mang, a unique scholar emperor in the history of China, was awarded the throne by a scholar through peaceful means.
In the first year of Yongzheng in the Han Dynasty, namely 16 BC, Wang Mang was appointed as the new capital Hou because he was the nephew of the Queen Mother. At this time, Wang Mang was thirty years old. Seventy-eight years later, Wang Mang seized the opportunity and exposed a series of conspiracies of Xu, Wang Chang and Wang Rong, who wanted to be queen again after the abolition. Wang Gen, a former fu, recommended him to be a fu, and Wang Mang began his career of fame.
Xin Mang "Tai Po Huang Gan" copper coin Wang Mang became a fu, determined to surpass his predecessors in reputation, so he recruited celebrities as his aides and made a very clean and noble appearance. Whenever he gets a reward from the court, he gives it to the family of the guests and takes nothing for himself. In life, he is also very frugal, wearing shabby clothes and eating simple meals, almost no different from ordinary people. Once, Wang Mang's mother was ill, and the Marquis of the imperial court sent many ladies to visit. These people were all dressed in silk and jewels, and Wang Mang's wife hurried out to meet her, dressed in coarse clothes, not mopping the floor, and her skirt just covered her knees. The guests thought she was a servant of the Wangs, and only after asking others quietly did they know that she was Wang Mang's wife. Wang Mang's family is very considerate in entertaining guests, but it's just a cup of tea. From then on, Wang Mang began to have a reputation of honesty and frugality.
Not only that, Wang Mang also won the reputation of being a direct minister. Once, the Queen Mother gave a banquet and invited Empress Fu, Empress Zhao and Empress Ding to get together. The official in charge put a chair in the middle of the seat, which belonged to the Empress Dowager Tai, and another chair beside it, which belonged to Empress Fu, and the rest were arranged on both sides. At this moment, Wang Mang came in and shouted, "Why is Wang Mang a scholar after all? If he gives up his persistent pursuit of Confucianism, he may be a successful emperor.
Take two seats? The official in charge replied, "One belongs to Empress Dowager Tai and the other belongs to Empress Fu." Wang Mang said, "Empress Fu is a concubine. How can she sit with the emperor's father? Get off the bus quickly! " Queen Fu didn't come to the party when she heard that her seat had been removed. Later, Fu forced Wang Mang to be removed. When follwed heard the news, he immediately asked for his dismissal, but Eddie didn't keep him. In this way, follwed returned to his new capital fief. However, although this incident led to his dismissal, it won him more fame. Everyone thinks that Wang Mang has the demeanor of an ancient minister.
At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, everything became very corrupt. If nothing else, it is enough to cite the fact that Emperor Ai of Han loves men. Dong Xian's father was a suggestion, so Dong Xian was able to lay down his life for the prince. He was only fifteen or sixteen at that time. Later, Eddie came across him in the temple and thought he was dressed as a woman. He fell in love with each other at first sight. Coupled with Dong Xian's habit of grovelling and posturing, Eddie dotes on him so much that they share the same case and bed together, and are inseparable. Later, even Dong Xian's sister and wife took turns to accompany Eddie. Dong Xian's family also rose to the top. They really invited the main pet alone, and the public was full. Eddie is more obsessed with Dong Xian's love. One day, Eddie and Dong Xian took a nap together. Eddie woke up first. Seeing that Dong Xian was still sleeping, he wanted to get up quietly. Unexpectedly, his sleeve was pinned down by Dong Xian. In order not to wake Dong Xian, Eddie tore off his sleeves and stood up. From this incident, we can know that state affairs cannot but be eroded and weakened. It was in this situation that Wang Mang was usurped by bureaucrats step by step.
