School profile, the Third Division of Hunan Province
The Third Normal School of Hunan Province is called the Third Normal School of Hunan Province. It was established in 1904 and is located in Yanfeng District of Hengyang City. Known as "the cradle of southern Hunan revolution", the former site of Hunan Third Division is located in the west campus of Hengyang Normal University, and it is the first demonstration base of patriotism education in Hengyang.

The Third Normal School of Hunan Province, the full name of Hunan Provincial Third Normal School, was originally located in Yanjiaping on the east bank of Hengyang River. Looking across the river, it is the majestic Wild Goose Pagoda. Hunan Provincial Third Normal University is a school with a long history, which was once known as "the highest institution of learning in southern Hunan". Founded in the winter of 1904, it was originally "Hunan Guanli South Road Normal School". After the Revolution of 1911, 19 12 1 was changed to "Hunan Public Third Normal School", and 19 14 was changed to "public" and "provincial", which remained at the original school site. 1927, the school was forced to close. 1928 classes resumed in the spring, and it was renamed as "Hunan No.5 Middle School". 1934 changed to "Hengyang Middle School". 1938 Due to bombing by Japanese planes, the school moved to Leiyang and moved to Changning the following year.

From 65438 to 0993, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hengyang Normal College, Hunan Third Normal College and Hengyang Education College merged to form Hengyang Normal College.

Hunan Third Division is the main base for the revolutionary struggle of "Southern Hunan Federation of Students" and also the place where Mao Zedong engaged in revolutionary activities in his early days. The school is known as "the cradle of southern Hunan revolution", where Mao Zedong founded the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s first branch in southern Hunan, and Jiang Xianyun and others initiated the establishment of "Southern Hunan Student Union". Huang Kecheng, Xia, Zhang Hui, Jiang Hua, Zhang Pinghua and other revolutionaries of the older generation studied and engaged in revolutionary work here, including Chen, Li, Deng Zhongxia, Xie Weijun and so on. Now there are dozens of proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation, who are students of the Third Normal University.
