Summer vacation refers to the school holiday time from July to August or 1 month to February, about one to two months, and the holiday time varies from hemisphere to hemisphere.
In China, schools usually divide each school year into two semesters. The autumn of last semester starts from September 1 and ends around the tenth day of the twelfth lunar month (or 1 mid-month, mostly in Northeast China). At this time, the school began to have a holiday. This holiday is a cold winter in China, and it is called winter vacation. Winter vacation usually ends on the fifteenth day of the first month.
The next semester begins in mid-February in spring (the 16th day of the first lunar month) and ends in late June or early July, and the school begins to have a holiday again. This holiday coincides with the hottest summer in China, and the heat is pressing, so it is called summer vacation. At present, the summer vacation time of most schools is from the end of June to September 1, and the holiday time of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in each province may be different.
China region
In China, the period from the end of June or early July (after the school year) to September 1 day (at the beginning of the new school year) is one and a half months to two months. Kindergartens and primary schools will be advanced to the end of June. If the next school year is the last grade of middle school (for example, the second year of high school is the third year of high school), then the summer vacation may be greatly shortened by one month or even cancelled because of the entrance examination.
As for the situation in Hong Kong, although as mentioned above, all primary and secondary schools and kindergartens have a summer vacation of one and a half months. However, some secondary school students who need to take the public examinations held every year under the old British colonial academic system (3223 academic system), such as Secondary Five students who take the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination and Secondary Seven students who take the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, generally take all the examinations from February to May (excluding the oral examination).
