On how to cultivate college students' sound personality
First, the practical significance of shaping college students' sound personality

Talents who meet the needs of the future society should not only have a healthy body, noble ideological and moral quality, solid scientific and cultural knowledge, but also have a sound personality. College students' physical and mental development is in their youth. Not only will their physical and mental development undergo great changes, but their self-awareness will gradually move from differentiation and contradiction to unity, which is an important period for the development and perfection of college students' personality.

Student management bears the important responsibilities of teaching, management and service, focusing on fully embodying the people-oriented educational concept according to the characteristics of college students' physical and mental development, guiding students to pay attention to personality, actively shaping themselves, gradually making personality healthy and perfect, and making educational management achieve twice the result with half the effort.

In China, many educational pioneers have long been concerned about personality education. Zhang Boling, the founder of Nankai University, believes that the first purpose of education is to strengthen moral education and cultivate students' personality. He pointed out: "Cultivate personality, especially fundamentals." An important part of Mr. Cai Yuanpei's educational proposition is "complete personality education" When he became the chief of education, he pointed out that "the fundamental policy of education in the Republic of China is to cultivate and improve personality." At present, it is more practical to strengthen college students' personality education and shape a sound personality.

(1) Personality education is the inevitable requirement of social development and modernization in China, and it is the trinity of college students. Contemporary society is a rapidly developing society, and both scientific and technological civilization and people's lifestyles and concepts are constantly changing and updating. Social changes and intensified competition have made it more difficult for people to adapt. This social situation makes it difficult for the traditional education that emphasizes knowledge transmission unilaterally to achieve its educational purpose, and it will be replaced by a new educational model-personality education that emphasizes quality cultivation and personality development. In addition, college students, as a special group of society, are not only a biological entity with flesh and blood and nervous system, but also a social entity bearing various interpersonal relationships and social expectations, and a psychological entity with secular desires and self. This trinity complex of biological entity, social entity and psychological entity makes college students pay great attention to all aspects of society, which invisibly increases their psychological burden.

(2) Personality education is an inevitable requirement of contemporary college students' personality status. The majority of contemporary college students are the new generation after the implementation of the one-child national policy. The disadvantages of "Little Sun" education implemented by some parents are prominent, and "self-centered", strong dependence, poor handling ability and inability to withstand setbacks have become the image descriptions of these students. For example, some students, in a joke, will turn their faces and deny people because they are not lovers; Some students walking on the road will cause disputes because they stare at each other; It is also common for students who want to live alone because the dormitory is noisy. Once such students enter the society, they will be at a loss. If attaching importance to wisdom over morality and attaching importance to body over mind is mainly the misunderstanding of family education, then one-sided emphasis on knowledge imparting and political and ideological education while neglecting the cultivation of good character and emotion is mainly the misunderstanding of school and social education.

(3) Personality education is the foundation and main motive force of ideological and moral education for contemporary college students. Personality education and moral education are two different parts in the education system, which are interrelated and interact with each other. Moral quality means that individuals recognize and assimilate external social moral norms through the socialization process of education, and adjust their behavior according to these norms, which plays a positive role in guiding and promoting the development of people's quality in all aspects, but this does not deny that the development of moral quality should be based on good psychological quality.

Because the goals and methods of traditional moral education emphasize the indoctrination of political thoughts and moral knowledge, and do not cultivate moral quality as an internal personality characteristic, many students' moral knowledge is out of touch with moral behavior. For example, some students cheat in exams in party member, and a few students with excellent academic performance will also take part in fights, all of which illustrate this problem. Therefore, in order to overcome the disconnection between knowledge and practice of college students and cultivate good moral quality, moral education and personality education must be combined and based on personality education.

Second, the main factor affecting the personality development of contemporary college students is a group bearing high expectations of society and family. They have a strong desire for self-success, but their psychological development is not mature, they lack social experience and their adaptability is poor. It is this contradiction between desire and impossibility that has become the main factor affecting the personality development of college students. It is embodied in the following aspects:

(1) The influence of inappropriate family education and upbringing methods For a long time, under the baton of the college entrance examination, schools and parents often adopt the method of exam-oriented education in the process of educating students, focusing only on intellectual education and ignoring the cultivation of students' sound personality. In terms of parenting style, a considerable number of parents adopt simple and rude traditional paternalistic means because of their low educational level. This negative parenting style is easy to make children form sensitive, suspicious, inferior, irritable, depressed, anxious, paranoid, hostile and other unhealthy qualities. A considerable number of parents pay more attention to providing financial support for their children after they are admitted to college, and pay less attention to their psychological growth. In recent years, with the increase of social divorce rate, the number of students from divorced families has also increased year by year. These students who lack family warmth are more likely to have psychological barriers.

(B) the impact of social reality The fierce competition in the market economy has promoted the rapid development of all aspects of society, but it has also brought a series of social problems. The intense pace of life and great work pressure make people feel depressed and tired. The reform and opening up has provided broad and good opportunities for the development of college students, but a series of social unhealthy phenomena have also caused many psychological contradictions of college students, and even personally felt the pain of social transformation, which has exposed college students' personality weaknesses and formed psychological diseases.

(3) The lack of psychological counseling in colleges and universities plays an important role in the formation of a person's personality. College students in adolescence tend to mature physically and mentally, but have not yet formed a sound personality. Judging from the psychological confusion of college students, many of them are caused by personality disorder. However, due to the general lack of specially trained psychological counseling teachers in schools, many psychological problems of students are confused with general ideological problems, and unscientific teaching has affected the normal development of students' personality.
