Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, referred to as "Fujian Agricultural University", was founded in 1936 and is located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Fujian Provincial Government, and jointly established by the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the Fujian Provincial Government. It is one of the earliest agriculture and forestry universities in China and one of the three key high-level universities in Fujian Province. It was formed by the merger of the former Fujian Agricultural University and the former Fujian Forestry College.
This school is the first batch of national master's degree awarding units and the second batch of national doctoral degree awarding units. It is an excellent university for undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of Education, a national key discipline project, and the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of the national education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents. The school's predecessor was the Agricultural College of Fujian Christian University founded in 1936 and Fujian Provincial Agricultural College founded in 1940.
