The main functions of the Education Bureau

First, the implementation of national and provincial education policies and laws and regulations, formulate normative documents on education in our city and supervise the implementation; Overall planning, coordination and guidance of the city's education system and school system reform; To study, formulate and organize the implementation of the city's education development plan and annual plan.

Two, responsible for the overall planning and coordinated management of all kinds of education at all levels in the city, and guide the education and teaching reform of all kinds of schools at all levels; Responsible for the statistics, analysis and release of basic education information.

Three, responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting education equity, responsible for the macro guidance and coordination of compulsory education, guiding the work of ordinary high school education, preschool education, special education and ethnic education, planning and guiding the teaching reform of basic education, and fully implementing quality education.

Four, to guide the education supervision work, responsible for organizing and guiding the supervision and inspection of secondary and below education, eliminating illiteracy among young and middle-aged people, and guiding and monitoring the development level and quality of basic education and vocational education.

Five, co-ordinate and guide the development and reform of higher education and vocational education in the city, guide the teaching and teaching evaluation of secondary vocational education, guide the construction of teaching materials and vocational guidance of secondary vocational education; Responsible for the management of ordinary secondary schools except normal schools and health schools.
