Comenius' Educational Thought
Comenius, a great Czech democratic educator and the founder of modern western educational theory, was born in a miller's family. Comenius was the earliest advocate of public education, and his thoughts were put forward in the book On Great Teaching. This paper will discuss Comenius' educational thought in depth to help readers better understand his contribution.

Great teaching theory

The Great Teaching Theory comprehensively discusses the idea of reforming the old education in the Middle Ages and establishing the new capitalist education, puts forward a complete educational theory system, separates pedagogy from philosophy for the first time, and completes a major change in educational theory.

Classroom teaching system

Another important contribution of Comenius is that in the history of education, he elaborated the class teaching system and related school year system, school day system, examination and assessment system for the first time.

The democratic proposition of universal education

Comenius put forward the democratic proposition of universal education and advocated that "all young men and women, rich or poor, should go to school". In order to realize this idea, we created the school system and invented the class teaching system, which is still in use today.

Universal wisdom theory

The theory of universal wisdom is the core of Comenius' educational thought. Comenius, deeply influenced by humanism, is full of confidence in human wisdom and creativity, and advocates the harmonious development of human beings through education, hoping to improve society and realize the equality of sects and nationalities through education.

Popularize compulsory education

Comenius advocates universal compulsory education. Under the historical conditions at that time, Comenius broke the shackles of feudalism and advocated that everyone had the right to education, which was suitable for the development requirements of social productive forces at that time.
