As long as you can achieve "a gentleman is learned and lives on", you can "know what he does but do nothing", that is to say, if you can do this, you can achieve the goal of surpassing yourself. So this paragraph is mainly about learning to be confident first.

Second, we should have an open mind. In the third paragraph, I borrowed the knowledge that thinking all day is not as good as learning in an instant, and expecting is not as good as climbing, to illustrate that we should be good at using external forces and making good use of available resources, that is, learning with an open mind and not being arrogant or impetuous. The last sentence is "gentlemen are born different, but good at personal leave". A "gentleman" is a learned and cultivated person. A gentleman is no different from the average person. Their success lies in their good use of various objective conditions. Therefore, Xunzi told us that we must be open-minded in the process of learning, and only with an open mind can we succeed quickly.

Third, we must have perseverance. Only when the soil is piled up into mountains can the wind and water flourish, and the water drops and stones wear through, can the dragons be dragons, and the goodness can be successful, so that they can be prepared. Therefore, only by knowing how to accumulate steps can we reach thousands of miles and accumulate small streams to become rivers and seas. Xu, don't give up. All these emphasize a "persistence", which is what we call "persistence". Only perseverance can do things well. At the end of this paragraph, earthworms and crabs are compared to further prove this point. Crabs kneel six times and squat twice. It's not that the snake hole has no sustenance, it's also impetuous. No matter how good the conditions are, nothing can be achieved without perseverance.

With these three minds, learning will not give up halfway. Only by not giving up halfway can you become a "gentleman". Xunzi can be said to be the key to learning, giving scholars a golden key. No matter the vicissitudes of the world, those who win will succeed, and those who go against it will be abolished. Remember, remember.
