Shantou University is a comprehensive university established with the approval of 198 1 the State Council. The school has received great assistance from Mr. Li Ka-shing, a famous patriot and internationally renowned entrepreneur. Li Ka-shing Foundation has promised to donate HK$ 8 billion to Shantou University (including cheung kong graduate school of business) (up to 20 18). At present, Shantou University is an institution of higher learning jointly founded by the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Province and Li Ka-shing Foundation, and it is also the only public university in the world that is continuously funded by the Li Ka-shing Foundation, a private foundation. The school covers an area of 1888.70 mu, with a building area of 568,000 square meters (including gymnasium, medical college, residential college and other projects).

Shantou University's postgraduate education began in 1990, and our school became the authorized unit of master's degree in 1993 and the authorized unit of doctor's degree in 1998. 200 1, our school became the authorized unit of master's degree with the same academic ability. In 2009, our school was recommended and admitted outstanding fresh graduates to study for master's degree without examination and recruit postgraduate qualifications for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. At present, our school has three first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 14 first-class master degree authorization points, including the coverage of first-class discipline points. Our school has 39 doctoral degree authorization points in two disciplines and two master degree authorization points in 103. There are 1 1 master's degree authorization points, covering 9 disciplines such as economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management and art, and there are more than 3,200 master's students.

As the administrative department of degree and postgraduate education, the graduate school aims at "improving the quality of training", actively explores new measures of postgraduate education management, vigorously promotes the construction of postgraduate management service platform that meets the requirements of ISO standards, and strives to learn from the successful experience of the mainstream of international postgraduate education to build a dynamic and distinctive postgraduate education system that meets the needs of society.
