School of Journalism and Communication of Zhengzhou University was established in June 2004. Its predecessor was the Department of Journalism of Zhengzhou University, and/kloc-0 was the first journalism institution in the Central Plains in April 1984. Based on the urgent needs of society, Zhengzhou University began to establish journalism on 1976, and enrolled more than 80 students that year, becoming the first batch of journalism students in the history of Henan higher education. Entrusted by the Propaganda Department of Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Henan Provincial Party Committee, 1982 began to recruit a two-year training course for journalists. With the approval of the former State Education Commission, the Chinese Department of Zhengzhou University established the journalism major 1983 in April, and enrolled four-year undergraduate students in July of the same year. 1984 In April, Zhengzhou University formally established the Department of Journalism. After 20 years' efforts, the College has developed into a fully functional discipline base, with three undergraduate majors in journalism, radio and television journalism and advertising, and two professional directions in broadcasting and hosting, editing and publishing. It has a complete master's degree program in journalism and communication integrating teaching and scientific research, and has trained more than 1 10,000 outstanding graduates for the society. There are more than 30 full-time teachers in the college, including associate professor 18 and postgraduate tutor 12, and 70% of the teachers have doctoral and master's degrees. There are more than 600 full-time undergraduates and nearly 100 graduate students. There are 6 laboratories, including library information center with more than 70,000 books, library and newspaper room for teachers and students to consult, electronic reading room and comprehensive photography laboratory, electronic editing laboratory, broadcasting and television laboratory, advertising design laboratory and multimedia laboratory. There is also a national key research base-Mu Qing Research Center and Media Development Research Center, as well as its Institute of Journalism and Communication, Institute of Advertising and Media Economics, Institute of Media and Social Development, Institute of Cultural Communication and Institute of Editing and Publishing.
