North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), referred to as Beijing for short, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is jointly established by the board of directors of State Grid Corporation, China Electric Power Enterprise Federation and other 12 super-large power groups and the Ministry of Education.

Northeast Li Dian University is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, and is a key university in Jilin Province. It was selected as the first batch of key universities in the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" and "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities" of the Ministry of Education.

China Three Gorges University is located in Yichang City, Hubei Province. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formed on May 25th, 2000 by the merger of the former Wuhan Institute of Water Resources and Electric Power (Yichang) and the former Hubei Three Gorges University. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hubei Province.

Changsha University of Science and Technology &; Technology), referred to as "CSUST", is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, and is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport and the Hunan Provincial People's Government.
