Guangxi Vocational and Technical College is the first batch of 100 modern vocational apprenticeship pilot units in China and the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot colleges of higher vocational education in Guangxi. Guangxi University of Labor was founded in 1965, and has gone through several historical stages, such as Tropical Crops Branch of Guangxi Agricultural College (undergraduate), Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Staff University, and Guangxi Vocational University of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce. 1998 became the first batch of independent public higher vocational colleges in Guangxi.

As of April, 20 19, the college has a total campus area of 794,600 square meters and a school building area of 438,900 square meters. At present, there are 7 teaching institutions and 50 higher vocational enrollment majors, including 692 on-the-job teaching staff and 24,800 full-time students. 20 19- 12 was listed as the third type of high-level professional group construction unit by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.
