The West Campus of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in July, 1955. It is one of the earliest provincial hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine in China, and its first president is Liu Huimin. After nearly 70 years of development, the hospital has now become a large-scale third-class comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It is a national model Chinese medicine hospital, a national Chinese medicine clinical research base, a national Chinese medicine inheritance and innovation project construction unit, a national drug clinical trial institution, a national Chinese medicine examination base and the first batch of standardized training bases for Chinese medicine residents. It has successively become a national advanced center for stroke, a national humanistic care hospital and a national "patient".
