Cambridge Children's English is an exam designed for the cultivation and improvement of children's English ability in non-English-speaking countries. It is divided into Cambridge Children's English Level 1, Cambridge Children's English Level 2 and Cambridge Children's English Level 3. The exam also includes three parts: listening, speaking and reading.
The Examination Center of the Ministry of Education of China and the Sino-British Education Metrology Exchange Center introduced the project and were responsible for its promotion in China. Cambridge children's English has gradually become a mature learning system, which has been popularized in 30 provinces across the country, and a team of Cambridge children's English teachers and oral examiners has also been established. Cambridge Young Leaders English Tests, referred to as Cambridge English for short, is a very popular extracurricular English course in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other big cities, which is organized by the University of Cambridge Examinations Committee (UCLES). It is also the only officially promoted and professionally evaluated children's English training program. Adopting the world's most advanced English test mode, with full mark 15 guilder as the representative certificate, will greatly enhance students' interest in learning English, fully stimulate children's enthusiasm for learning English, thus comprehensively improving students' English listening, speaking, reading and writing level, and will obtain a realistic certificate jointly issued by the Chinese-English Center of the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education and the Examination Committee of Cambridge University (UCLES).
The examination is held in March and September every year, and the examination centers of local education departments are responsible for the comprehensive examination.
