I. Classification of nurses in Australia

Nursing in Australia is managed and registered by the corresponding professional organization (NMB Australian Nurses and Midwives Association) and supervised by the government.

Generally can be divided into registered nurses and unregistered nurses:

1. Registered nurse: No college degree, if studying TAFE, similar to Gong Hu, mainly doing nursing work in nursing homes, with full service; For students in China, registered nurses can't get a two-year work visa.

2. Registered nurse: bachelor degree or above, equivalent to half a doctor, with the right to prescribe. Generally, one nurse is responsible for 5-6 patients.

Registered nurses are guided and managed by registered nurses and are responsible for registered nurses and patients they care for themselves.

Two basic requirements for applying for a registered nurse:

The nursing courses selected by students must be certified by NMB Australian Nurses and Midwives Association or other equivalent medical associations (generally NMB certification); Graduates must obtain four sevens in IELTS or four B's in OET (English Proficiency Test for Medical Industry) before they can apply for registered nurses, and then they can take part in professional assessment.

The average starting salary after graduation is $49,667, and only 12% of students can't find a full-time job within 4 months after graduation (24%-30% in other industries). About 5% students will continue to choose the next degree after graduation. At present, there are 36 schools in Australia, including TAFE school, offering undergraduate nursing courses, such as the University of Sydney, the University of Melbourne and Monash University, as well as RMIT, West Sydney, Newcastle University and Sydney University of Technology.

If you have China nurse qualification certificate and work experience, you can apply for 1 year course for such students.

3. Other domestic undergraduate courses except nursing: you can apply for 2-year undergraduate or 2-year postgraduate courses, which are specially provided for students with degree certificates but not nursing majors. Undergraduate nursing students can apply for nursing graduate students at Monash University.

3. One-year undergraduate course of bachelor of nursing (preppie), which is provided by individual schools and certified by NMB, can be registered. Suitable for domestic junior college or undergraduate nursing graduates, who have obtained the domestic registered nurse certificate and want to get an Australian registered nurse in a short time. English (such as IELTS 4-7) and academic ability of the applicant are extremely demanding.

4. Master of Nursing (practice or nursing or nursing research)/Bachelor of Nursing (postgraduate entrance) two-year undergraduate or master course in nursing. There are not many universities offering this major, and they can be registered through NMB certification. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree and no professional background, but usually they should have human biology or other related courses. Suitable for students who have a bachelor's degree in China and are not nursing majors, but plan to go to Australia to study nursing and immigration.

5. Master of Nursing, without certification, can't register. Students must have a bachelor's degree in nursing, have work experience requirements, be suitable for registered nurses in China or Australia, and aim at further study (such as planning to become a head nurse or a senior nurse).
