Welder operation specification
This paper will introduce welder qualification, stacking height, safety measures, welding procedure qualification and joint quality inspection items.

professional ability

Welders must pass the examination according to regulations and hold the certificate of special equipment operators uniformly printed by AQSIQ. Special types of work should be trained in safety, and can only be operated after passing the examination and holding relevant certificates. The certificate shall be within the validity period, and the welding work of the welder shall not exceed the permitted scope of the certified project; Welding work is interrupted for more than 6 months, and re-employment needs to be re-examined.

Stacking height

The stacking height shall not exceed1.5m. Pipes shall be horizontally stacked on a flat support or ground, and the stacking height shall not exceed1.5m. When the pipes are bundled into a square bundle of 1m× 1m, the stacking height may be appropriately increased, but it shall not exceed 3m. The pipes should be piled up neatly one by one, so as not to collapse, which is easy to take and manage. The main purpose of shed protection is to prevent pipeline from aging and deformation due to direct sunlight.

safety measure

Pipes and fittings should be stored in a well-ventilated warehouse or a simple shed with a temperature not exceeding 40℃. When pipes and fittings are temporarily stacked outdoors, they should be covered. When storing pipes, pipes with different diameters and wall thicknesses should be stacked separately.

qualification of welding procedure

The construction unit shall first prepare work instructions and conduct trial welding, evaluate the welding process of polyethylene pipes, hot melt welding methods and welds used for the first time, and determine the welding process according to the evaluation report. Evaluation and inspection test items: appearance quality inspection, hem shedding inspection, hem reverse bending test and tensile performance test.

Joint quality inspection

Joint quality inspection items: joint bending performance test, tensile performance test, crimping height, chip thickness, offset value and butt joint gap.
