How to be a pet doctor
You actually want to take the veterinary qualification exam.

There are generally two ways to obtain veterinary professional qualifications. First, those who need to pass the national unified examination will be issued with qualification certificates for veterinarians or veterinary technicians.

Veterinary qualification examination qualification: graduates who have obtained veterinary professional degrees through six years' study in regular veterinary colleges; Foreign students must first pass the veterinary equivalent examination and the local language (such as English) proficiency examination. At the beginning of the implementation of this examination system, the existing personnel were generally recognized as veterinarians, and at the same time, the graduates of animal husbandry and veterinary specialty and veterinary staff who studied through the relationship between teachers and students were allowed to apply for the examination. However, after several years of transition, it is limited to veterinary graduates from regular veterinary colleges.

Veterinary technician examination requirements: graduates who have obtained a degree in veterinary or animal health through two to four years of study in local veterinary schools. At the beginning of the implementation of this examination system, the qualifications of veterinary technicians have been generally recognized, and veterinary staff who have graduated from animal husbandry and veterinary specialty and studied through teacher-student relationship are allowed to apply for the examination. After several years of transition, it is limited to veterinarians or graduates of related majors who have passed regular veterinary schools.

Examination: Veterinary college graduates generally begin to prepare for the veterinary professional qualification examination one year before graduation. This exam is divided into theoretical part and clinical part; Held once or twice a year; The examination place is located in a veterinary college or a special examination place; The examination method is paper answer sheet or electronic answer sheet; The score line for passing the exam is determined by specialized personnel. In a period of time after the implementation of this examination, remote areas can set their own qualified scores according to their own conditions; At the same time, provinces are allowed to set audit standards for employees applying in the province. Veterinary professional qualification examination is sponsored by the national veterinary professional qualification examination institutions, and the provincial veterinary practice management institutions organize the registration and examination work. The examination results shall be examined and approved by the national veterinary examination institutions, and the examination results shall be notified to the provincial management institutions, which shall be responsible for notifying the applicants. Those who have passed the examination shall apply for the veterinary professional qualification certificate from the provincial management institution and pay the corresponding fees. Provincial management agencies issue veterinary qualification certificates to applicants who pass the examination, register at the same time, and report to the national veterinary management agencies for the record.

Career profile:

The process of human activities is a process of continuous development and progress, and it is also a process of continuous coordination between man and nature. With the development of economy and the continuous improvement of living standards, people are seeking different ways of spiritual comfort and sustenance while pursuing rich material life. In recent years, keeping pets has gradually become one of the ways for people in big cities to seek spiritual comfort and sustenance.

China is rich in pet breed resources and has a large number. Pets are accepted and loved by more and more families and individuals, and pets play a special role as "companions" in people's lives. People and pets get along well, which constitutes a landscape of harmonious social development. At the same time, the health of pets and the prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases have also become the concern of pet owners and all walks of life.

Although animals are the majority of pets, in view of the emotional attachment between pets and people, it is obviously not enough to treat pet diseases with methods aimed at livestock. The treatment of pet diseases, especially the prevention and treatment of pet and human diseases, must be completed by professionals. Therefore, the emergence of a new profession-pet doctor has become an inevitable requirement of social development.

At present, the domestic demand for pet doctors is mainly concentrated in economically developed cities and regions, such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 2003, there were more than 10000 pet hospitals in cities above the county level in China.

The number of pets raised in Beijing alone is estimated to exceed 6.5438+0 million.

With the increasing demand of residents for pets year by year, the number of pets will increase geometrically, which brings opportunities for the development of pet diagnosis and treatment. Judging from the development and trend of the whole industry, the social demand of pet doctors is bound to show an increasing trend.

At present, there is no good plan for the construction of pet medical practitioners in China, and the number of employees is obviously insufficient, and the professional ability of employees needs to be further improved. After the country has clearly established pet doctors as a profession, it will further standardize this profession through professional qualification certification, improve the professional quality of employees, establish a high-quality diagnosis and treatment team, and promote the healthy development of China's pet diagnosis and treatment industry.

With the development of the times, people's life content and lifestyle are more colorful, and the pet industry will further rise and develop rapidly in China. The establishment and standardization of the new profession of pet doctor will also have positive significance for promoting the construction of a comprehensive and harmonious society in China.
