School history
Hongyi University was originally a college, and 1946 was founded in Seoul, with a literature department and a law department. 1949 became a four-year university. In addition to the departments of law and literature, there was also an art department. During the Korean War, he moved to Busan. After the Korean War, he moved to Seoul again. And moved to the current Seoul campus on 1955. Since then, with the expansion of the campus, the accumulated reputation has created a new milestone for the history of the school. Academically, there are departments of business and economics, education, fine arts, technology, architecture and research institutes.
197 1 year, Hony University scaled new heights, merged with Capital Institute of Technology, and was upgraded to a comprehensive university under the Institute of Technology. At that time, * * * had three colleges of science and engineering, business economics and fine arts, 20 departments and a graduate school. 1972 industrial fine arts institute was established, and night department and normal college were established in the same year and the following year. 1977 Five schools, namely Hony Junior High School and Senior High School, Hony Junior High School and Senior High School for Women, and Hony Primary School, were established and changed into affiliated schools of teachers' colleges.
From 1980 to 1982, the Ministry of Education successively established the College of Literature, the College of Environmental Science and the College of Education. With the increasing enrollment and natural science courses, 1983 and 1985 have built a liberal arts building, a computing center and a gymnasium. In addition, from 1988 to 1989, two six-story student dormitories were built, covering an area of 122 and 263 square meters respectively.
From 1986 to 1989, in order to further expand the teaching plan of Hony University, the International Business School and the Law Business School were established successively, and the printmaking department and graphic design department were merged into the Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to establishing the industrial college of 1 1, it is also decided to establish the second campus of Hony University in Yanji County, Chungcheongnam-do, covering an area of 15 1, 250 square meters. The School of Engineering of Seoul Campus has established the Department of Radio Science and Communication Engineering (now merged into the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering), the School of Industrial Information, the School of Business Economics and the School of Taxation. The College of Industrial Science is divided into the College of Science and Technology and school of visual arts (now renamed the College of Art and Design) in Niaochi College. In view of the coming of globalization, Hony University has established Hony College of Foreign Language Education (telephone number 1997) to support foreign language learning. School of Advertising and Public Relations, founded in 1998, is the first department related to advertising and public relations in Korea.
