The examination time for comprehensive ability of interpretation, consecutive interpretation and secondary simultaneous interpretation at all levels is 60 minutes.

The examination time of the three-level interpretation practice course is 30 minutes. The examination time for the subjects of comprehensive translation ability at all levels is 120 minutes, and the examination time for the subjects of translation practice is 180 minutes. The translation test is divided into two parts, English-Chinese translation and Chinese-English translation, with 2-3 articles in each part.

The initial test, senior high school entrance examination and advanced examination take 3, 4 and 6 hours respectively, and the length of translated articles varies at all levels. The higher the level, the longer and more difficult it is to translate the article.

Interpretation takes the form of listening to the recording and doing translation.

Candidates wear headphones in the language lab. After hearing a speech in English or Chinese, they translated it into Chinese or English respectively and recorded it on tape.
