When students from maritime colleges graduate, or ordinary crew members apply to become officers, they need to take the national unified examination for the certificate of competency of officers. In addition to our "Certificate of Examination", drivers must pass the examination and obtain the following certificates:
One is G certificate, namely GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) certificate;
The second is the "four small certificates", that is, familiarity and basic safety, proficiency in lifeboats and rescue boats, proficiency in first aid and advanced fire fighting;
The third is the "two small certificates", that is, the standard diagram of Thunder and ARPA operation. Marine engineering graduates must also take the "four small certificates" like driving graduates.
