Dai Xiaolian is a student in Zhang Ziqian. As a teenager, she studied guqin with her uncle Zhang Ziqian, a famous guqin master of Guangling School. After graduating from high school, Dai Xiaolian was admitted to the Folk Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and became the first student to major in Guqin. This shows that Dai Xiaolian is a student in Zhang Ziqian.
