With the reform of college students' employment mode and the change of society's demand for high-level talents, colleges and universities must break through the mode of "seasonal improvement" to carry out career counseling for college students based on career guidance, and carry out all-round and whole-process counseling with the fundamental task of cultivating college students with distinctive personality and innovative spirit. College counselors are the backbone of college students' ideological and political education, the organizer, implementer and commander of college students' daily ideological and political education and management, and the important force for colleges and universities to implement the party's educational policy and adhere to the socialist direction of running schools. At the same time, counselors are also an indispensable role in college students' career counseling and play an important guiding role in college students' career planning.
I. Career planning and its significance
Occupation refers to a series of activities and behaviors included in a person's life work experience. Career planning is divided into personal career planning and organizational career planning. Personal career planning refers to an effective arrangement aimed at maximizing personal development achievements through effective planning of personal interests, abilities and personal development goals on the basis of analyzing personal and internal environmental factors. It can be seen that the career choice of college students is not an individual event when facing employment, but runs through the whole process of education. Many college students confuse the difference between majors and majors when they apply for the college entrance examination, and they are blind when choosing majors. Therefore, when they enter the university, the university should guide them to establish a correct concept of employment and guide them to gradually complete their career planning. But judging from the current situation, this work is not optimistic. The survey shows that college students are not clear about their own development plans during their college years, so they can't use the theory of career design to plan their future work and life development direction. This situation seriously affects students' preparation in advance and accurate positioning of employment, and even affects students' adaptability to work.
The ancients said: "Everything is established in advance, and it will be abolished if it is not planned." In one's long and short life, career occupies the most precious golden time in life. Successful people shine a dazzling aura in their careers. Contemporary college students are in the stage between exploration and formal employment, so it is of great significance to carry out career planning in colleges and universities. Career planning can help students understand themselves, their careers and the decision-making methods of career development and planning. Career planning can make college students have the right direction and effective action measures, give full play to the initiative of self-management, fully develop students' own potential and achieve career success.
Second, college students' career planning problems
1. Lack of self-goals. Influenced by our traditional ideas and exam-oriented education, the only purpose of most students' study before the college entrance examination is to go to college and get promoted. They study for their parents and teachers without considering their own individual needs. After entering the university, they lost their way while achieving their goals. Don't know yourself, don't know what you can and can't do; I don't know enough about my interests, personality and values, my major and professional world, and how to integrate with the professional world. The lack of self-goals leads many college students to fail to establish practical life goals and lack clear learning goals; Impetuous mentality, lazy behavior, not serious study, addicted to the internet all day, muddle along.
2. There are limited ways to understand the relevant theories of career. For a long time, all the work in colleges and universities has been focused on teaching and scientific research, but not enough attention has been paid to career counseling, and the importance and necessity of career counseling have not been recognized, so little investment has been made in policies, funds, facilities and personnel. The lack of attention from schools leads to limited ways for students to understand vocational theory.
3. Expectations for career development are too high. In the process of choosing a job, college students pursue big cities, large enterprises and institutions, units with high income, high status and high welfare, and are unwilling to exercise in areas and towns with difficult conditions, nor are they willing to work in grass-roots units in emerging industries, tertiary services and small and medium-sized cities. When applying for a job, many college students pay more attention to the immediate salary and benefits, and do not put their personal development space or future development prospects in the first place. Some graduates even sacrifice their excellent development opportunities in order to stay in big cities.
4. The subjective consciousness is weak. College students "step by step" from kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and senior high school to university, seldom have enough time to think about their hobbies, seldom get in touch with society, even less contact with all kinds of information in the professional world, and seldom actively explore and think independently about their own life path development. Many college students copy other people's experiences and practices and use them for their own use without serious thinking. After entering the university, I still seldom take the initiative to go out and learn about society and occupation. Talking with the concept of career counseling, it is a lack of professional responsibility. The weakness of subject consciousness has bound college students' thoughts to a great extent. As a result, students are not active enough, rely more on schools, teachers and parents, and rarely take the initiative to find employment information. In the process of job hunting, there is a lack of self-employment ability, lack of job hunting skills and methods, little understanding of employment policies, and poor adaptability to the environment. In addition, there is a lack of entrepreneurial awareness, high entrepreneurial expectations and insufficient entrepreneurial ability.
Third, how do college counselors guide college students in career planning?
1. College counselors should raise awareness and attach great importance to college students' career planning.
College counselors should be soberly aware that while conscientiously implementing the Party's educational policy and carrying out ideological and political education for college students, they should clearly incorporate the guidance of college students' career planning into their work responsibilities, organically combine ideological and political work, career planning guidance, professional study in colleges and universities and campus life, and provide follow-up guidance from the beginning of freshmen's enrollment to the end of students' graduation. Colleges and universities should also combine the reality of the new situation, thoroughly implement the spirit of "Opinions of the Central Committee of the State Council on Further Strengthening and Improving College Students' Ideological and Political Education", and strengthen the construction of college counselors in accordance with the requirements of "Regulations on the Construction of Counselors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities".
2. College counselors should establish a guidance plan for the whole process of career planning.
In the first grade, first of all, help college students to establish the consciousness of career planning, participate in the education and activities of career planning, and fully understand themselves and know themselves; Secondly, let college students know about the school, their majors and adapt to their study and living environment; Then, establish career goals and formulate corresponding implementation measures. Specifically, it is to participate in the school's community organizations, integrate into college students' life, exercise their ability to communicate with others, cultivate good study and living habits, do a lot of extracurricular reading in their spare time, broaden their knowledge, learn basic courses well, experience family, friendship and love, strengthen the cultivation of emotional intelligence, and learn how to be a person, how to study, how to get along with people and how to do things.
In the second grade, I first got a deeper understanding of my major, and through the study of professional foundation, I knew what this major would do in the future; Secondly, understand the relationship between your major and career development, and make clear what kind of professional knowledge and related knowledge you should have in career development to prepare for the next study; Then, according to the two years' practice in the university, we can learn more about ourselves and the environment, revise the career plan and adjust the implementation measures. In other words, we should constantly expand our knowledge in career planning, earnestly master solid professional basic knowledge and related knowledge, optimize our knowledge structure, broaden and deepen our professional knowledge through modern learning tools such as the Internet and newspapers, and learn to study problems. Take part in social surveys, get to know the society, know the occupation, participate in activities such as going to the countryside and volunteering, and make your outlook on life and values more mature. Visit and study in professional related institutions, take part-time jobs moderately, and participate in entrepreneurship, financial management, humanities and other training.
In the third grade, we should first consider our own career choices, and choose a few occupations that we are interested in for comparative analysis and refinement to see which occupation we are most suitable for; Secondly, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of the knowledge and ability needed for the chosen profession and the corresponding post, how to prepare for it, use the holiday to practice in the professional post or target organization you want to choose, experience the working environment and organizational culture personally, and find out the gap in your knowledge and ability; Then pay attention to cultivate their professional adaptability, understand the society and adapt to different professional environments through internships and part-time jobs, learn to deal with different people, improve their communication skills, and prepare for future integration into the professional environment; Finally, we must decide whether to take the postgraduate entrance examination or take part in the work, and we must decide in the third year.
In the fourth grade, first of all, further confirm what kind of work is feasible and realistic for you, learn about career information through various channels, and consult experts such as career planners and employment guidance teachers; Secondly, take part in job-hunting recruitment training to understand the laws related to job-hunting skills and the employment policy of the year; Then do a good job in graduation thesis, job search and internship in the target unit; Finally, participate in all kinds of on-site recruitment and online recruitment, and prepare for the interview and signing.
3. College counselors should establish and improve the files of college students' honesty growth.
After college students know themselves objectively and truly, it is easier to plan their professional roles and directions, but it is not so easy to implement their own plans, and it is easy to get discouraged when encountering difficulties. If counselors establish and improve the integrity growth files for each college student from the beginning of freshmen's enrollment, and truly record the growth process of students during their college years, it will be the first-hand information for counselors to guide the whole process of college students' career planning, and it will also be the reference material for recruiting units when college students graduate from job hunting, which will greatly promote the success of college graduates' job hunting.
4. College counselors should also pay attention to personalized counseling.
Personalized counseling is mainly aimed at students who are not psychologically prepared for career choice. Counselors should fully understand the psychological status of students when giving individual counseling. On this basis, through the application of psychological testing technology and psychological counseling methods, students can enhance their self-awareness and self-confidence and determine the occupation field suitable for their psychological characteristics and abilities.
In short, under the new situation, college counselors should change their ideas, innovate their work contents, attach great importance to college students' career counseling, give full play to their role in career counseling, make use of their own advantages, actively cooperate with relevant departments, and play a unique role in college students' career planning, social practice and employment service, so as to realize the adult, talent and success of contemporary college students.
