Shanxi Coal Management Cadre College was established in June 1984. It is an adult college approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and officially put on record by the State Education Commission. The competent department is the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. August 3rd 198 1 Shanxi Coal Industry Cadre School was established with the approval of Shanxi Provincial Planning Commission, and is under construction. On June 7th, 1984, with the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government, it was restructured into Shanxi Coal Management Cadre College. College is located in Wucheng Road, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, covering an area of 178 mu, with a total construction area of124,600 square meters and fixed assets of 78 million yuan. It has advanced teaching equipment, complete logistics facilities, comfortable student apartments, superior venues for cultural and sports activities, and a library with books 16 1000 volumes and more than 360 kinds of periodicals, which provides good teaching conditions and living environment for students to study at school. 1995 College was commended as "Advanced Unit of Shanxi Coal Education System" by Provincial Coal Administration Bureau (Department).

The college has continuously expanded its school-running level, from three majors and four classes in the early days of its establishment to six departments (Economics and Trade Department, Finance and Economics Department, Computer Department, Environmental Protection Department, Technical Engineering Department and Normal University).
