China Organic Food Certification Center (COFCC) is a specialized organization of China Ministry of Agriculture to promote the development of organic agriculture movement and engage in organic food certification and management. It is also the first organic food certification institution recognized by China National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) (approval number CNCA-R-2002- 100) and China National Accreditation Committee for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) (registration number CNASC 1 15-0). COFCO is legally registered in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and has independent legal personality. According to the Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Certification and Accreditation and the national standards for organic products, COFCO adheres to the principle of "openness, justice and fairness" and provides organic food knowledge training and certification services for applicants.
COFCO consists of certification department, certification department, management department, development department, finance department and other departments with clear responsibilities. In terms of operating mechanism, COFCO not only follows international practice, but also fully considers China's national conditions and draws on the advantages of agricultural system to independently carry out various tasks.
