The history of ETA Group can be traced back to the end of18th century: 1793 was founded in a watch factory in Fontainebleau. 1855, another factory specialized in manufacturing "Ebauches" (blank movement) opened in Grenchen. It was later named ETA. 1926 Ebauches SA, a joint-stock company that brings together the major Swiss blank movement manufacturers, was established. When SMH was established in 1983, Ebauches SA was renamed ETA SA Fabriques d'Ebauches. Manufacturing and assembly plants are located in Switzerland and all over the world, including France, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia and China.
As the cornerstone of Swatch Group, ETA's main businesses are as follows:
Ensure the technical research of Swiss watches; Develop mass production of low-priced accessories, movements and watches; Master all skills of watches and production machines; Assemble movements and watches in batches.
In order to achieve the above goals, ETA has its own research and development laboratory: it is also responsible for the design and development of its own production equipment. For example, the Swatch production line, one of ETA's most successful products in recent years, was designed, developed and built by the enterprise itself. ETA has a global spare parts distribution network and after-sales service movement inventory. Regularly distribute technical materials and international training courses to all markets.
