Wenzhou College of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, formerly known as Wenzhou College of Mechanical Technicians, is a full-time technical college that mainly trains middle and senior skilled personnel. It is a national key technical college, founded in 1979, and fully funded by public institutions. Wenzhou Mechanical Vocational and Technical School, a provincial key vocational school, was founded in 1993 and merged with Wenzhou Mechanical Technician School in 1995. It is run by two brands and one team. After more than 30 years of construction and development, the College has become the first batch of national high-skilled talents training bases (electromechanical projects) in Zhejiang Province, the numerical control training base of the key research laboratory of advanced manufacturing technology of Zhejiang University, the national vocational skills (lathe and locksmith) appraisal institute, the demonstration base of advanced manufacturing skills training in Zhejiang Vocational School, the demonstration base of advanced manufacturing skills training in Wenzhou Vocational College, the training base of vocational skills upgrading in Wenzhou, the employment skills training base of college graduates in Wenzhou and the training base of rural labor force in Wenzhou. The college is located on the bank of Nantang River, adjacent to the Municipal Education Bureau in the north and Wenzhou Avenue in the south. Excellent geographical location, convenient transportation, elegant environment, complete teaching facilities, a large number of advanced experimental training rooms and complete sets of teaching equipment. Now it has four centers, namely, mechanical center, electrical and electronic center, automobile professional high-skilled personnel training center, information and economic and trade center, and has a first-class website, campus LAN, radio and television closed-circuit system, multimedia teaching classroom, electronic reading room, audio-visual studio and so on.

The college has a high-level faculty with strict organization, reasonable structure and superb skills, adhering to the excellent style of service, example and reflection, forging ahead, pioneering and innovating, and making great achievements again and again. 130 among the existing staff, there are 94 full-time teachers, 38 with senior titles, 37 technicians above intermediate level, senior technicians and professional technical teachers, and more than 50 double-qualified teachers, including 2 chief technicians in Wenzhou and 2 winners of the highest honor "Jinyan Award" in Wenzhou Skills Competition. At present, there are full-time students 1768, of which the proportion of senior engineers and technicians exceeds 70%. Technicians, senior engineers, higher vocational "3+2", secondary vocational schools, vocational schools and other different levels of professional 15. The backbone majors cover NC machining, NC mold manufacturing and design, maintenance electrician, electrician and electronics, electromechanical equipment installation and maintenance, automobile inspection and maintenance, computer application and maintenance, computer-aided design, accounting computerization and other majors. Among them, machining technology, mechanical and electrical equipment installation and maintenance were jointly rated as provincial-level demonstration majors by the Provincial Department of Education, and maintenance electrician was rated as the first batch of provincial-level demonstration majors by the Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security.

Guided by the teaching philosophy of "service-oriented, employment-oriented, students-oriented, ability-oriented, skills-oriented, and the principle of being practical and knowledgeable", the college adheres to the employment-oriented school-running policy, focusing on order-based training and work-study combination, supplemented by economic compensation and cooperative training, and is mutually beneficial. Promote school-enterprise cooperation by integrating training, skill appraisal, base construction, scientific research and production, and establish close cooperative relations with large key enterprises such as NEC and Bethel Group to provide strong support for enterprise employment and seek more and better opportunities for students' employment. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates is above 97%, and the quality of employment is among the best among similar colleges in the city, which has created a precedent for the paid distribution of graduates from vocational colleges in the city. More than 1000 skilled personnel are recognized for social training every year, and laid-off workers are re-employed 1.000%. In addition, the college actively cooperates with universities in central and western regions such as Yunnan to help other vocational colleges and promote the overall development of vocational education.
