Vocational and technical schools, referred to as "vocational schools", are a branch of secondary vocational schools. Vocational schools focus on vocational skills training and improving the employment level of the labor force, which is a school-running mode with China characteristics. Through technical training, we can enhance the competitiveness of market employment, and after passing the skill examination, we can obtain a nationally recognized secondary school diploma. In the early days of reform and opening-up, there were a number of institutions specialized in vocational training for on-the-job employees, which were called "vocational schools" or "technical schools".
