As early as 1898, Hua Yan scholar Xia Yue founded "Hua Yan University" in Cuifeng Temple of Jiuhuashan; 19 19 At the beginning of this year, at the initiative of Rong Xu, the abbot of Dongya Temple, "Jiangnan Jiuhua Buddhist College" was established. Courses offered include: introduction to Buddhism, introduction to Hinayana Buddhism, origin and development of Buddhist sects, photography, Chinese, English, writing methods, arithmetic, history, geography, nature, music, art and sports. From 65438 to 0985, Jiuhuashan Buddhist Association held a one-year Sangha training course to recruit students from temples all over the province. After graduation, most students return to their original places to engage in temple management. Jiuhuashan Buddhist College was founded in July 1990 on the basis of Jiuhuashan Sangha Training Course, and its school site was selected in Kanluoji. There are regular classes and Buddhist research classes, and temple deacon training classes are held for all parts of the country from time to time to teach basic courses such as ancient Chinese, philosophy, medicine, writing, English, calligraphy and Brahma, as well as Buddhist theoretical courses such as introduction to Buddhism, eight outlines, commandments, three theories of teaching methods, Tibetan scriptures, three theories of benevolence and righteousness, and Buddhist history. By July, 1999, * * * has trained more than 250 students and nearly 50 temple deacons.

Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, altars have often been set up in the jungle of Jiuhua Mountain to give lectures and give Buddhist education to monks. The lecturers are not only eminent monks in this mountain, but also famous monks from other places invited by courtesy. The more influential lecture activities are: Xu Zhiyu 1637 to 1638, one of the four eminent monks in Ming and Qing Dynasties, gave lectures on Huayan Sutra at the altar of Furong Pavilion, and participated in lectures on the original vows of the Bodhisattva Dizang; Monk Qing, Xing Fu and Bao Heng successively went to Jiuhua to give lectures, which was a great success. At present, the lectures of contemporary famous monks such as Puguan, Liuyuan and Dayuan are also quite influential, especially in recent years, Master Yi Sheng of Hong Kong Baolian Temple 198 1, 1986 and Master Qing Ding of Zhaojue Temple, Sichuan 1986 have lasted for several months.
