What is the IEEE standard?
IEEE was merged from AIEE (American Institute of Electrical Engineers) and IRE (American Institute of Radio Engineers) on June+10/October 1 June, 65438, and it is the largest professional society in the United States. IEEE is a non-profit science and technology society with more than 360,000 members in nearly 65,438+075 countries around the world. Through its diverse membership, the organization is a leading authority in the fields of space, computers, telecommunications, biomedicine, electricity and consumer electronics. In the fields of electrical and electronic engineering, computer and control technology, the literature published by IEEE accounts for nearly 30% of the world. IEEE also holds or co-holds more than 300 technical conferences every year.

Purpose Since its establishment, IEEE has been committed to promoting the theoretical development and application progress of electrical technology. As a catalyst for scientific and technological innovation, IEEE supports the needs of its members through activities planning and services in a wide range of fields. Promote the exchange of science and technology and information from computer engineering, biomedicine, communication to electric power, aerospace, consumer electronics and other technical fields, carry out education and training, formulate and recommend electrical and electronic technical standards, and reward members with scientific and technological achievements.

The institutional research institute is headed by the chairman (now Mr. W. Cleon Anderson) and the Executive Committee. The major issues of the society are decided by the Council and the members' congress, and the daily affairs are completed by the executive Committee. The Society consists of four committees on superconductivity, intelligent transportation system, neural network and sensor, and 38 professional branches on power engineering, aerospace and electronic systems, computers, communications, broadcasting, circuits and systems, control systems, electronic devices, electromagnetic compatibility, industrial electronics, information theory, engineering management, microwave theory and technology, nuclear and plasma science, marine engineering, power electronics, reliability and consumer electronics. The Society is also divided into 10 regions, with more than 300 local branches in * * *. The conference consists of representatives from 10 regional association and 10 technical branch. IEEE Beijing Branch was founded in 1985.

IEEE members can enjoy the following preferential treatment: members can communicate with each other and enjoy information; Unique special cost savings and value-added benefits; Recognize and reward members' technical and professional achievements; Opportunities to participate in, lead or volunteer to assist IEEE activities; E-commerce is conducted between network services and IEEE.

IEEE standards include: electrical and electronic equipment, test methods, original equipment, symbols, definitions and test methods.

Publications: IEEE Magazine (monthly), IEEE Magazine (monthly), IEEE Overview (monthly) and IEEE Guide (published once a year); More than 800 standards have been published or are being formulated; Professional branches also publish various periodicals, magazines and meeting minutes.
