Xi 'an Conservatory of Music, referred to as "Yin Xi", is located in the world famous historical city Xi. Its predecessor was the Music Department of Northwest Art School founded by Marshal He Long in 1948 in the Jin-Sui Border Region. In May of the following year, he crossed the Yellow River with the troops and moved to Xi 'an, which was named "Music Department of Art College of Northwest Military and Political University". It is the only music college in the northwest.

By the end of 20 13, the college had two master's degree authorization points for first-class disciplines, namely, art theory and music and dance, and two master's degree authorization points 10. There are 9 undergraduate majors, including 9 departments of musicology, composition, vocal music, orchestral music, music education, piano, dance and electronic music engineering, as well as teaching departments such as solfeggio teaching and research department, basic department, affiliated middle school and art theory research room. The Northwest National Music Research Center attached to the Middle School is a key research base of philosophy and social sciences in Shaanxi Province (universities), and there are also symphony orchestras, symphony orchestras and national orchestras composed of teachers and students in universities. There are 3600 undergraduate students, 350 graduate students and 400 affiliated middle schools. The College Amateur Music Training Center has 4,000 registered students and 20,000 students are graded for social amateur music every year.
