Drilling holes on solid materials by using a drill bit is characterized by high bit speed, serious friction, difficult heat dissipation, high heat, high cutting temperature, large cutting capacity, difficult chip removal and easy vibration. The drill bit has poor rigidity and accuracy, so the drilling accuracy is low. General dimensional accuracy is IT 1 1~IT 10, and roughness is Ra 100 ~ 25.

Bit (twist drill): There are two kinds of twist drills: straight handle and tapered handle. The torque transmitted by the straight shank is small, and the diameter of the drill is within 20mm, while the torque transmitted by the tapered shank is large. Commonly used drill bits, generally larger than 13mm in diameter, are made into taper shanks. Its tail adopts Morse taper.
