The European Specialty Coffee Association (SCAE) was founded in 1998, and originally put forward the concept of World Barista Championship. The association has a network of SCAE branches all over Europe and outside Europe, and held its first unique competition in Monte Carlo in 2000. Today, SCAE has launched many educational projects, from baking to running coffee bars, which really pay attention to all aspects of the professional coffee industry. SCAE also manages other famous world championships, such as; World latte art championship, world cup sommelier championship, world good mood coffee, world Cezve/Ibrik championship.
