The township forestry station, called "a township (town) forestry workstation", is the management institution of the county (city) forestry department in the township (generally public institution, clerk level), similar to the township land management. Generally, the dual leadership of the county (city) forestry department and the township where it is located is implemented, with the forestry department as the main leader. The main tasks include forest administration, forest resources management, forest protection and fire prevention, pest control, forest management and production.

The main responsibilities of township forestry workstation:

1, publicize and implement forestry laws and regulations and various forestry principles and policies;

2, assist the township government to formulate forestry development plans and annual plans, organize and guide rural collectives and individuals to carry out forestry production and operation activities;

3, to carry out forest resources investigation, afforestation inspection and acceptance, forestry statistics and forest resources archives management;

4. Responsible for coordinating the survey and design of cutting area, and supervising the cutting area operation and cutting area acceptance;

5. Do a good job in forest fire prevention and forest pest control;

6. Protect and manage forest land, trees and wildlife resources according to law;

7, assist in handling disputes over forest ownership, investigate and deal with cases of destruction of forests and wildlife resources;

8, with the township to establish and improve the rural forest protection network, responsible for the management of rural forest protection team;

9. Popularize forestry science and technology, carry out forestry technical training, technical consultation and technical services, and provide pre-,mid-and post-natal services for forest farmers;

10, responsible for the protection and management of ecological public welfare forests in this area, and do a good job in the distribution of forest ecological benefit subsidy funds and the management of forest rangers;

12, do a good job in forest right registration and certification, and guide and coordinate the reform of collective forest right system.
