How to teach New Concept English Book One?

First of all, let's learn about the setting of the textbook in order to make better use of this book. I find the setting of teaching materials very reasonable. Every two classes are a unit, each unit learns one or two grammar and sentence patterns, and grasps sentence patterns and words repeatedly through questions and answers.

In the whole process, please try to close the book, use pictures and actions to express your meaning, and let the children understand English through gestures. Ok, now let's see how the dialogue works.

-Introduce the story: Try to start with English-

-Know the situation: show the children pictures to see if they can understand the text through pictures and use Wh/H sentence patterns-

-Setting goals: Before playing the recording, ask a question, and let the children listen actively with the question-

-Play the recording for the first time and finish it without a pause-

-Play the recording for the second time. This is an intensive lecture. Let the children understand every sentence. If the child doesn't understand, try to express it with gestures. This process may take a long time, but the effect is excellent-

-Play the recording for the third time. After the intensive listening session, the children have basically understood the text, so don't keep playing it again-

-Play the recording for the fourth time. This time, let the children read after it. Read every sentence-

-Open your book and read it aloud-

-Role-play, recite the text-

Well, by listening, the children have basically understood the text and can even recite it. Then the next step is to exercise your child's oral ability and ask/answer some simple questions in English as much as possible. Remember, do what you can, don't be too complicated, use the words and sentences you have learned, and don't make some Chinglish out of thin air.

It doesn't matter if the child can't answer the questions in English. Take your time and start using Chinese, which is also a good way to exercise your thinking.

So I said before, why is it better for senior two children to learn new concepts? Children in this grade have a certain foundation and it is easier to start.

Don't just answer yes/no, try to let the children use complete sentences.

Ask questions in sentences beginning with Wh/H

This is the content of even class. You can ask and answer the children sentence by sentence according to the pictures and prompts until you can speak fluently. New words will appear in even classes, so be sure to use them. This is recorded and can be found online.
