How to prepare for the actuary exam
Clear the direction of the exam

Clarify the direction of the examination, whether it is to test domestic actuaries or internationally certified actuaries (such as North American actuaries); Whether to take the life insurance actuary or the property insurance actuary.

Obtain quasi-actuary qualification

If you want to take an examination of domestic actuaries, you have to take two steps. The first step is to get a quasi-actuary, which is a threshold that both life insurance actuaries and property insurance actuaries must pass. The quasi-actuary exam is mainly based on mathematics, so I suggest you prepare for mathematics.

There are differences in exam subjects.

After passing the quasi-actuarial examination, it is necessary to consider whether to take the life insurance actuary or the property insurance actuary. Although the subjects of the two exams are similar, there are still two exams that are more targeted and need to be treated differently.

The international certification exam is very difficult.

If you are an internationally certified actuary, it is recommended to work hard on foreign languages and mathematics at least in advance, and it is best to attend actuary training classes in Peking University and other schools. The passing rate of foreign registered actuaries is extremely low. At present, it took more than four years for the fastest actuary in China to pass the exam (North American actuary).
