The situation of Tianjin Maritime College
Tianjin Maritime College, founded on February 23rd, 2006, is a comprehensive full-time public higher vocational college, which is approved by Tianjin Municipal People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. It focuses on training seafarers and has disciplines such as science, engineering and management. It is one of the seafarers' training institutions declared by China Maritime Safety Administration to the International Maritime Organization, the first institution in North China by Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration and the first education and training unit in North China certified by the National Maritime Safety Administration.

The college covers a total area of 976 mu, with construction land of 6 15 mu, and the total construction area of the first phase is17.133,400 square meters. There are more than 6,500 students in school. There are 420 faculty members in the college, including 305 full-time teachers, with intermediate or above 190, accounting for 62.3%.

The College has six departments, namely, the Department of Navigation Technology, the Department of Marine Engineering, the Department of Shipping Economics, the Department of International Cruise Crew and Tourism Management, the Department of Engineering Technology, and the Department of Information Engineering. It offers 24 majors and professional directions, including navigation technology, marine engineering technology, yacht maintenance technology, international cruise crew, and financial management and practice (shipping finance). Among them, international cruise crew, financial management and practice (shipping finance) and yacht maintenance technology are the first majors in higher vocational colleges in China. Specializing in navigation technology, marine engineering technology, physical and chemical testing and quality inspection technology (nondestructive testing), pipeline engineering construction, international cruise crew, cooking technology and nutrition (cruise cooking), financial management and practice (ship finance), welding technology and its automation (ship welding), communication technology (ship communication equipment), yacht maintenance technology, ship machinery manufacturing and maintenance, Maritime electronic and electrical technology 12 is unique in Tianjin higher vocational colleges. Maritime technology, marine engineering technology, physical and chemical testing and quality testing technology (nondestructive testing) and international cruise crew are the key construction majors of the college.
