"China Translator Qualification Examination-CATTI" is the most authoritative professional qualification (level) certification in China, and it is a unified, social-oriented examination that recognizes the bilingual translation ability and level of interpreters or translators.

The CATTI translation qualification examination was piloted for the first time since June 5438+February 2003. It is a major reform of the title evaluation system of translation series in China, and it is designed to match the title evaluation system. In the first half of 2009, the number of applicants for this exam increased from 1.600 in 2003 to1.5000, and the number of English applicants also increased from 1.000 in the pilot period to nearly1.4000. By the first half of 2009, there were more than 96,000 registered reference personnel, and the cumulative number of qualified personnel exceeded14,300.

Postgraduates majoring in translation who have not obtained the second-level or above translation professional qualification (level) certificate before entering school must take the second-level interpretation or translation professional qualification (level) examination during their school days, and can be exempted from taking the comprehensive ability subject and only take the interpretation practice or translation practice examination.
