Lymphedema is one of the diseases that seriously affect human health and quality of life. With the increase of tumor incidence and the popularization of standardized treatment, the number of lymphedema patients increases rapidly after comprehensive tumor treatment.

Hunan Cancer Hospital/Cancer Hospital affiliated to Xiangya Medical College of Central South University cooperated with the British Lymphedema Training Institute (LTA) to establish the "Hunan Lymphedema Therapist International Training School" on 20 18, and has held three training courses for lymphedema therapists. His successful experience in running a school was published in chinese nursing management magazine and won the 2020 China Excellent Nursing Thesis Award.

The hospital is the chairman of the lymphedema professional committee of Hunan Nursing Association. The lymphedema rehabilitation center has more than 5,000 outpatient visits, 2 1 1,000 CDT patients, online consultation 1 1,500 and in-hospital consultation for special cases, which has achieved good social benefits.

The team of lymphedema therapists won the National Natural Science Foundation Project 1, the Provincial Scientific Research Fund Project 4, the National Intelligence Introduction Project 2 and the Provincial Intelligence Introduction Project 2, published the monograph on lymphedema 1, obtained 5 national patents, and published more than 0 papers on lymphedema1,and achieved excellent results in clinical, scientific research and teaching. In order to alleviate the pain of patients, better solve the treatment and rehabilitation problems of lymphedema patients, promote the popularization and standardized application of international advanced CDT technology in China, and train more lymphedema therapists who meet international standards, the 2022 lymphedema therapist training course is now held, which is open to the whole country.
