Introduction to Zhejiang International Maritime College Zhejiang International Maritime College is located in the scenic "Sea-sky Buddha Country, Fishing Capital Port City", the first national-level new district with marine economy as the theme in China, and the Zhoushan Islands New District in China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It is a public higher vocational and technical college with distinctive sea-related characteristics, with navigation as the leader, shipbuilding engineering, port and trade logistics and international cruise crew management as the main body. The school was established in February 2004, approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in February 2006 and formally established by the Ministry of Education. In 2009, it passed the talent training evaluation of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. In recent years, the development of schools has been highly valued by government departments at all levels. With the strong support from all walks of life, the school is striving to build a higher vocational college with national demonstration level and sea-related characteristics.
The school has two campuses, Zhoushan New Town and Daishan, covering an area of about 598 mu, with a construction area of 6,543,800+0.55 million square meters. There are nearly 5,000 full-time vocational students, and more than 700 adult education students/kloc-0. There are eight teaching units, including Maritime Engineering College, Ship Engineering College, Port Management College, Ocean Tourism College, International Education College, Petrochemical College, Donghai Education College and Social Science, Sports and Art Department. Twenty-three higher vocational majors such as navigation technology, marine engineering technology, marine power engineering technology, aircraft mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, port and shipping management, customs declaration and international freight, international cruise crew management, industrial robot technology, petrochemical technology and petroleum refining technology have been set up, and a higher vocational education talent training system combining full-time higher vocational education with part-time academic education, vocational training and technical services has been established.
Navigation technology, marine engineering technology, marine engineering technology, port and shipping management, customs declaration and international freight, international cruise crew management, international cruise crew (the direction of international cruise leader) and other majors are listed as provincial-level advantages and characteristics, among which navigation technology specialty is listed as national-level transportation demonstration specialty. The school has many national and provincial excellent courses and resource sharing courses, and has more than 200 training rooms and training bases inside and outside the school, of which 4 are provincial demonstration training bases. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment in the school is nearly 100 million yuan, with complete teaching, books, scientific research and living facilities, advanced training equipment such as ship maneuvering simulator and training places such as sea training base. It is the base of China seafarers' skill competition. At present, there are 22 kinds of crew training programs approved by the National Maritime Safety Administration, and the total number of crew training exceeds 6.5438+0.46 million. The school has established the orientation of "internationalization, skill and localization", always adhered to the direction of "based on Zhoushan, serving Zhejiang and facing the world", and fully implemented the ISO900 1 quality management system and the Quality Management Rules for China People's Education and Training of China Sailors. It is the implementing agency of China government to implement STCW Convention. The school is one of the networking organizations of the Hong Kong Shipowners' Association and Chinese mainland Maritime College, and has become a member of international organizations such as the International Maritime Teachers' Association.
The school has established close cooperative relations with well-known enterprises at home and abroad, such as Hongkong Dongshi Group, Singapore Wanbang Group, China Ocean Shipping Group and Yang Fan Group. Up to now, more than 2,500 graduates have worked in more than 30 world-renowned shipping companies. For example, Hongkong Orient Overseas Container Shipping Co., Ltd. has set up on-the-job undergraduate and master's teaching points in cooperation with universities such as Shanghai Maritime University, and carried out international exchanges and cooperation with makarov National Shipbuilding University and other maritime universities to create a platform for students to further their studies and study abroad.
