I started to learn jazz dance at the age of 22. I don't have any dance foundation, I can't concentrate, I can't keep up with my movements, and I have forgotten everything I have learned now. What should I do? Hehe, as luck would have it, I'm a new jazz coach, and I want to talk about my accumulated experience in teaching and practice.

If you are a novice in jazz, I suggest you don't rush for success, try to recite some difficult moves.

But to improve their basic skills. It takes two months or more to practice basic skills. After you have a certain foundation, you will find what you found difficult before. Because there is no foundation to understand and jump out (just like learning aerobics), you can get twice the result with half the effort, but that feeling is hard to imitate (unless you are a genius). Because the details depend on the practice of basic skills.

Suggestion: practice each basic skill separately first, and then combine all kinds of basic skills to practice an eight-beat action, or even practice only four beats ~

PS: The basic skills are very boring. If it is new jazz, it is mainly to practice the flexibility of the body and the coordination of the whole body, with emphasis on the chest and cross.

I suggest you ask the teacher more questions about basic skills, even if you don't practice, you can't make mistakes. Secondly, don't just rely on the time in class, practice more by yourself after class.

You don't need to go to a large class for half a year or a year (note that it is not recommended to continue to go to a large class at the junior level, so the improvement will be slower). It is also a very fulfilling thing to try to make a dance video by yourself.

22 years old is not too old. My students have aunts in their forties (a little dizzy).

Dancing is a kind of life and enjoyment.

Don't let it become your own burden. If you persist, you will become a talent sooner or later. It is only a matter of time.

Keep dancing!
