Guangdong Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Electric Power is a public full-time college approved by the Ministry of Education. It belongs to the Guangdong Provincial Water Resources Department and is guided by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in business. In 20 13, it was recognized as a "provincial model higher vocational college" by Guangdong Province. In 20 15, the college was awarded the fourth national civilized unit by the Central Civilization Committee.

By the end of 20 15, Guangdong Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Electric Power had occupied an area of about 1 100 mu, with a total construction area of 340,000 square meters and a total library collection of more than 650,000 books. There are 740 in-service teachers in the college, including 539 full-time teachers, 2 13 teachers with senior titles and 356 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees.
