Why is Go not as common as chess?
I am a chess lover and have some contact with Go. I feel that chess can be used universally, but Go is in a small circle for many reasons. Let me say it briefly.

The first point: the threshold of Go is too high. It is more difficult to learn. Anyone who has played Weiqi knows that there are too many routines in it. I don't know what to do without special training to enter the training class. I tried it online, and it has never ended before. Feeling powerless to fight back. But chess is different. I learned it from others. There are so many pieces, and the function of each piece is clear and easy to understand.

The second point: it takes too long to finish a game of Go. And it takes a short time to finish a game of chess. Generally, it takes several hours to watch international games, and the time is ten or even dozens of hours. Playing chess usually takes more than ten minutes. Everyone has a characteristic and likes instant feedback. Just like our current mobile phone photography, there is no need to click, but because people are used to the "click" sound of the original camera, when designing a mobile phone camera, we should also make this sound so that people can get used to it, because people need such timely feedback. Chess can give feedback in time, but Go can't.

The third point: chess has low cost, less restrictions on the game, and it is easy to judge whether to win or lose. Unlike Go, it costs a lot of money to buy a chessboard, while chess may cost more than ten yuan to buy a chess with a good feel. Go, no matter whether it wins or loses, will lose. I feel so tired.

There are many other reasons. In short, I also like chess, and I think Go is too brain-burning and troublesome.
