Theory: Music Department, Composition Department

Two houses: Music Education College, including piano, vocal music and theory (mainly psychology and education).

Academy for Performing Arts, including pop singing, guitar and so on. Wuhan Conservatory of Music, located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is one of the nine independent conservatories in China and the only independent music institution in Central China. It is a master's degree awarding unit, the first batch of MFA education pilot units in China, and a social art level grading institution.

Wuhan Conservatory of Music was founded by Zhongnan College of Literature and Art, South China People's College of Literature and Art, and Guangxi Provincial College of Art 1953. The musical parts of the above three schools were formerly known as Zhongyuan University College of Literature and Art, Wuchang College of Art, which was taken over by 1949, and Hunan University College of Literature and Art, which was merged by 1950. Guangdong Provincial Art College, Guangzhou Municipal Art College and Hong Kong Chinese Conservatory of Music form South China People's College of Literature and Art; Guangxi Provincial Art College's predecessor, Guangxi Provincial Art Teacher Training Course, etc. 1958, Central South Conservatory of Music merged with Wuhan Art Teachers College to form Hubei Art College (1972- 1978 was named "Hubei Art College"). Postgraduates begin to enroll students 1979. 1985 was renamed Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
