PETS*** has five grades, all of which attach great importance to the examination of candidates' actual language communication ability, including two relatively independent parts: written test and oral test. Candidates can apply for written or oral examinations according to their own needs. Candidates who have passed the written and oral tests at the same level in the same exam or two adjacent exams can obtain the national English proficiency test certificate issued by the examination center of the Ministry of Education at the corresponding level. Candidates can download and print the Notice of Examination Results from China Education Examination Network, regardless of whether their scores are qualified or not.
The registration and organization of PETS level 1 to level 4 examinations are the responsibility of the provincial examination organizer. The examination time is: take PETS Grade 1 B, Grade 1 II and Grade 3 in March every year, and take PETS Grade 1 II, III and Grade 4 in September every year.
PETS Band 5 has replaced the EPT test in the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK), and its test time and organization are consistent with other subjects in the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK). The extended information test is divided into two parts: written test and oral test, including listening, language knowledge, reading, writing and speaking. Those who pass the written test and oral test will be awarded the National English Test Certificate by the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education. The certificate of conformity can be used as an authoritative proof of the English level of the holder; It can also provide a fair and unified evaluation scale for all localities and units to evaluate the English level of the talents they use.
PETS- 1: the first level is the primary level, and its examination requirements are slightly higher than the English level of junior high school graduates (PETS- 1B is the subsidiary level of the national English level examination).
Pets-2: The second level is the lower level, which is equivalent to the English level of outstanding graduates of ordinary high schools (the qualified written test scores of this level can replace the English test scores of self-taught college (I) and diploma exams).
Pets-3: Level 3 is an intermediate level, which is equivalent to the level of China students who have studied English in colleges and universities for two years after graduating from high school or have taught themselves English courses of the same level. (The qualified written test scores at this level can replace the English (II) test scores at the undergraduate stage of the self-study exam. )
Pets-4: CET-4 is the upper-middle level, which is equivalent to the level of China students who have studied English for at least 3-4 years at university or have taught themselves English courses of the same level after graduating from high school.
Pets-5: Band 5 is the highest level, which is equivalent to the level of college English majors in China at the end of the second year. It is an English proficiency test specially designed for those who apply for public study abroad.
