Hunan city university, formerly known as Yiyang Teachers College founded by 1970 and Yiyang Basic University founded by 1978. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hunan Urban Construction College and Yiyang Normal College merged into hunan city university. Hunan Arts and Crafts Workers College and Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College were founded in 1975, located in Yiyang City, Hunan Province, with its back to Huilong Mountain and facing Xiufeng Lake, with beautiful scenery and profound cultural heritage. Hunan Yiyang Medical College, founded in 1950, formerly known as Yiyang Health School, is the only full-time medical and health college in Hunan Province, located in an important area around Dongting Lake. The school is a standardized training base for national assistant general practitioners.
