Zhongzhou Town is located in the north of Huaiji County, with four provincial highways and the Tai 'ao Expressway under construction running through the territory, and the land is more than 30 kilometers away from Huaiji County. It is a mountain city with more mountains and less water. It is adjacent to Shuizhen in the east, Maizhen in the south, Lengkeng in the west, Shuaizhuang Yao Township in the northwest and Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County in Guangxi in the north. The town governs 1 neighborhood committee and 16 village committees, with a town area of 256.6 square kilometers. By the end of 2009, there were 1 1309 households in Zhongzhou Town with a total registered population of 49,600. Zhongzhou is rich in forests, minerals and other resources, with a forested area of 228,055 mu. The main forest species are Pinus massoniana, Pinus elliottii, Cunninghamia lanceolata, bamboo with tea stalks and so on. Iron ore reserves are abundant, with proven reserves of more than 22 million tons. Since being awarded the title of Technological Innovation Town by the Provincial Science and Technology Department, the development of iron ore industry has become a characteristic pillar industry in Zhongzhou Town, with an annual output value of several hundred million yuan.
