Xinjiang Vocational College, located in Urumqi, is a comprehensive higher vocational college, which was approved by the former State Education Commission as the first batch of pilot colleges for higher vocational education in China. It is also a demonstration vocational college in the autonomous region, a national training base for high-skilled talents, a Sino-German vocational education project of automobile and electromechanical (SGAVE), the first batch of 100 modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education, and a demonstration base for education and training of retired military personnel in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
